Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actor, singer and writer. Sara Ramirez was brought up by an American mother, and was subjected to a variety of racist taunts, which led her to feel unwelcome. When she went to an event at school and was given great praise for her performance when she was in the ninth grade she began to gain confidence. This not only increased her self-confidence but also changed the direction she wanted to go in her career. She was a graduate of New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In 1993 she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. Her greatest break came in the role of The Lady of The Lake, in the original Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. The show won her the Tony Award and received great praise for the performance. The following year, in 2007, she was a cast member in the ABC show Grey's Anatomy and became more popular. An accomplished singer, she's also produced a single as well as an extended piece. Additionally, she works as an LGBT activist.
