Selena Gomez, an actress and singer, is a household name across the world. Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place, one of the largest projects she was a part of and achieved the greatest success, is her project. Selena Marie Gomez, her full title is. Born on the 22nd of July, 1992 located in Grand Prairie Texas. Amanda Cornett is her mother and Ricardo Gomez is her father. Her mother Amanda Cornett was just 16 years old at the time Selena was conceived. When she was nine, Selena got her very first gig in showbiz when she was cast as Gianna by Barney and her Friends. She became one of those kids who played with the world's most famous purple anthropomorphic dinosaur. Selena was a part of several episodes in the seasons 7 and 8. She worked between 2001-2003. As a fun fact: Selena isn't the only singer who worked in Barney and the Friends at this time; Demi Lovato also was part of the team that starred in the show. Selena Gomez left the show and was auditioned for a variety of other shows and films, but did not have any success. After leaving the series, Selena was able to audition for several roles in other programs and films but did not have much success. The character of Emily Grace Garcia was assigned to her in 2006's Brain Zapped, for which she composed a soundtrack.
