Ina-Garten

Ina Garten, an American chef and author and Emmy Award-winning host for Food Network's oldest program Barefoot Contessa that began airing in 2002 and will run for 27 seasons until 2020. Ina began her career working with the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget as well as policy documents. While she found it fascinating initially, in the end she lost her interest in it and bought a tiny speciality food shop - Barefoot Contessa. She spent eighteen years making the store extremely successful prior to selling it off as well as grabbing the pen to write her first cookbook. Several other books and magazines followed. Her Food Network TV show also made its debut which was an enormous success. She also sells a range of products ranging from cooking supplies to storage and equipment. Ina has never been to any cookery schools, or had a job in a restaurant. She is completely self-taught. Her casual approach to entertaining as well as her simple cooking style are well known. Her most famous recipes are the lemon chicken skeillet and Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac & Cheese Beef Bouguignon and The Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts, and Lemon Bars.
