Ina Garten is well-known American chef and author of a cookery book. She is also the Emmy award-winning host of Food Networks current oldest show Barefoot Contessa that debuted in 2002. It has since aired 27 seasons until 2020. Ina began her writing career by writing nuclear energy policy documents and budgets for the White House. Even though she found the job intellectually stimulating initially eventually she stopped her pursuit and purchased a small specialty food store - Barefoot Contessa. She spent eighteen years making the shop extremely popular before letting it go as well as grabbing the pen to write her first cookbook. There were other cookbooks to follow, as the magazine column.
